How does our tender system work?

We tender out your new vehicle requirements to our extensive dealer network, saving you time and money. Think Auto guarantees to supply you with the perfect car at the best price, hassle free.

Where do we source our cars?

We source our vehicles from the dealers offering the best price, availability and customer service.  

Our preference is to find the car as close to the customers location as possible, mindful of the convenience of the ongoing servicing relationship but never at the expense of the best price and customer experience.

What brands do you source?

We source all brands, makes and models.

Do I need to arrange transport and registration for an interstate purchase?

Think Auto will co-ordinate all interstate registration and transport requirements to ensure your new vehicle arrives to your doorstep registered and ready to drive.

What are your fees?

Our fee is marginal to the savings we achieve. We only charge 1.5% of the vehicle purchase price.

Why do we charge the customer and not the dealer?

Our fees are payable by the customer and not the dealer to ensure we are acting in the buyer’s best interest creating real competition between the dealers.

More than 50% of our business is generated through our repeat clients and referrals. The only way we can build a long lasting relationship with our clients is by engaging with dealers that provide the best possible price and customer service and not the ones who pay the  highest fee.

How do I collect my new car?

You can collect your vehicle directly from one of our preferred dealers or we can arrange delivery Australia wide.

What if I have a car to trade in?

When it comes to your trade-in vehicle, we can assist with the following two options:
 
Sell my Car- Our award-winning concierge service will facilitate the private sale of your vehicle.

Instant Sale’ – In order to get the best price for your trade-in we provide you access to our unique wholesale platform which stimulates real competition amongst the dealer network. To avoid any conflict of interest we do not hold stock or resell vehicles.

Do I get a choice of lender?

Of course, this is what sets Think Auto apart from the dealership model. We have access to a panel over 40 lenders. The lender will be determined by the applicants credit score, the amount borrowed and the age of the vehicle. Think Auto will usually engage with 3-4 suitable lenders to compare.

What items do I require to apply for car finance?

Documents required for the car loan application will depend on your profile, loan structure and previous credit history. Think Auto could require proof of ID (driver licence or passport), your personal and or company details, employment history, your current income, assets and liabilities. We will confirm the requirements with you upon your application.

How long will a loan take to approve?

Apply online in minutes by completing the '‘Obligation-Free Quote’' above. Approval times will depend on the complexity of the application, however we aim to provide you with an answer as quickly as possible. Once approved and the paperwork is executed the funds are usually disbursed within 24 hours.

What is a balloon or residual payment?

A balloon/residual payment is a loan structure designed to reduce your monthly repayments but has nominated lump sum payable at the end of the loan term. Please speak to a Think Auto consultant for further information.

How do I make repayments?

Repayments can be scheduled weekly, fortnightly or monthly either by direct debit from your nominated bank account or BPAY.

What if I'm unable to make my repayments?

We understand anyone can experience financial difficulty. Different life events like illness, losing a job, relationship breakdown or emergency events like natural disasters can cause you to experience financial hardship. Learn more about financial hardship and how Think Auto can help.

How can I get independent assistance?

Think Auto does not give out financial advice, we recommend the use of an accountant, financial planner/advisor. In the case of hardship we suggest visiting the MoneySmart government website at www.moneysmart.gov.au. Further assistance is available through the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007.
